having problems with my jonsered 630, intermittently running super rich. unable to get any rpms out of it when it happens, will still idle, but under full throttle will bog down, had recently put carb kit in it and it worked fine till yesterday, any ideas?

On my 670 the needle valve had worn badly and was letting it move too far thus allowing too much fuel. The wear was where it hooks on the moving lever and not in the seat area. The bottom of the notch (side towards the seat) had a very rounded shoulder and was not square like the top of the slot.

took carb apart agian, didnt see any problems, reinstalled carb, revs nice for a few times , then bogs down, fuel actually making muffler wet, any advice?

Depends on the carb.

First off, which type of carb is it? Tillotson? If so, which series? (hame and numbers should be on carb body)

Once we know which carb, we can go from there.

It should be a Tilly HS carb. Standard start-up settings are 1 turn out for each until saw is warmed up. Then adjust with tach or ear.

low speed is at 1 1/4 out. idles fine, just bogs and dies on revving, i can turn high speed all the way in and it still runs rich, put carb off the 630 super and it runs great, both carbs are tillotsons

There is a similar thread with a Shindaiwa 757 doing the same thing. I am interested to hear what the problem is. Coil?

how do i set it?

The metering lever on the Tillotson carbs should be set so that it is level with the carb housing.

If your saw runs rich enough so that fuel is coming out of the muffler then the lever may be set too high (too high = too much fuel; too low = too little fuel).
