Cool beans. Kinda reminds me of my xl-12 in a green sorta way...:givebeer:

Great looking old 361! I love mine, it's tough as nails. What all can you see that you need for it yet? You should be able to tell if a bow was run on it by a cut in the bar clamp/clutch cover, where it should be sitting flush with the saw.

Poulan 361

I have one, a friend gave it to me a few years ago after I helped him
with a construction project. I have it running. Calvin (Lawnmowertech 37)
came up with a starter pawl spring & I think ModifiedMark has rebuilt one.
Some parts are available on E-Bay too.

I just picked up one last week, haven't had time to get it running though, mine's not a pretty green like yours is, I guess this one was out in the sun a lot..

If you need any help looking for parts let me know. I'm pretty good at bird-doggn' down parts for old Poulans.

I'm looking for a new oil cap for my poulan 53. know where to find one?
(not to derail the thread)

as far as the switch

If is a toggle switch, they can be had at auto parts, electronics stores, Lowes
& other sources. The on/off plate might have to be modified, because
a chain saw switch passes current in OFF, and most other switches
pass current in ON.

I just may have one on an old 71A, if it will work. It ain't new, though. I'm not sure it's even there.

ok let me know. mine is damaged. it looks like the saw threw the chain at some point and it messed up the cap. it still seals somehow. but it's pretty nasty

If Digging does not have one I believe I have some new ones if you want one. I really enjoy working on those old sand cast Poulans and have acquired several parts inventories for them.

You have the oil cap? that would be cool. i need an air-filter and a sprocket. other than that i think i got it covered. did you see the thread i started with pics of my 53 today? i'm pretty happy with it

Thanks. It's a toggle.

I had to rent a storage unit to put most of my saws in, and it's about 25minutes away. If it's one there, I will mail it to you for free. I won't be going that way until maybe Saturday. If you want to get one from one of the other members that know they have one, I won't blame you, but I will check.

ok cool. you can't beat free. if you find one PM me.
thanks
