I haven't seen much on the new 461. The guy that sold me my 441 said that an upgraded 460 (461) is coming out. In fact, he said that after the two 460s he had are gone, the 461 will replace them.

This may be good, but why upgrade a saw for only .5 horsepower. It somehow does make sense to me. Any ideas?

I thought some of the stihl dealers on here said it would be 2014 before the 461 would come out.

Ya right and I got a big patch of swamp land in Arizona I can sell you. Stihl cant get the ms261 to this continent. What makes you think they will ever get an ms461?? By the time stihl figures out which end is up, petrol will be outdated.
Innovation aint stihls strong suit or do you expect that 461 to be a 4-mixer?? Stihl needs husky/redmax to figure out how everything is done right and then they will copy it. Some companies lead and some follow. As far as pro chainsaws are concerned, the only thing stihl can do is just get out of the way.

Great saws though.

Maybe we will all get lucky and the new 461 will be a twin(Offset rotational torque) micro wankel making 12hp, and be a real BADASS!!!

It looks like they have had enough time to work out the details LOL!!!!

Stay safe!

Just got my new Northern tools catalog and can buy any XP saw I want, LOL.:dizzy: Those dummies won't ever learn. Looks like they would follow the man at the top, maybe they don't know how he got there.

There goes your answer right there, why invest the R&D to make .5hp more when the 441 is fine? That is like when they had the 440 and 460. Two saws very close in power but different models. I think the 440 was the better saw. I think the only reason the 460 is around is to give guys the choice of old school or new. We will probably see a redesigned 441 in the future....

Husky will meet the same end as McCulluch and Homelite before its all over, as they have already went the box store route. Only time before the professional users will be fed up with their antics, and consumer confidence will be lost in their product.

That would be a shame but I could see it happening. Maybe Stihl could buy 'em and show them boys how it should be ran.

I ordered a Ultra Sonic cleaner from Northern Tool many months back. Guess what, a few weeks ago they sent me a hard cover catalog. I noticed what your referring to as well. I guess when there is a hole in your boat you will do whatever it takes to plug the hole. Course when you got buyers like Cent you need all the help you can get,:biggrinbounce2::biggrinbounce2::biggrinbounce2:

Whatever.

That is why Husky had to redesign the 575XP twice to get a decent strat production saw. The 575 not only couldn't get out of its own way, it couldn't even find its way off of the showroom floor.

The 441 showed the 575 how it needed to be done....

I really don't get their mind changes. One minute dealer only, next minute whore out to every store that will take us.:dizzy:

Reminds me I need one of those US cleaners. While buying it I might order Troll another 346 and have it sent his way to help fight world peace.:chatter:
