Buddy of mine is needing some cash and wants to sell his 090. It has some 1/2 inch giant chain on it that seems to be expensive and too large for milling. I want this saw for milling and would prefer .375 chain. Anyone know where to get a sprocket that size for this monster?? I know seems like putting the hulk in a bikini ... but whatever works...:msp_rolleyes:

Yes the chain is in good shape and the bar is solid tip so should be able to change sprocket to .375, I think it is .063 ga..

Do you have a .375 or a .404 ???

41" bar and chain, not sure how many links. He also has a 36" bar but he said the 41" was a 50", so the 36 may be a 30".

The chain looks almost new and is semi- chisel (with a rounded corner).

at work I changed a 090 AV over from a 59" 2 man bar running 1/2" to a 42" bar running .404. It worked out real nice and makes the saw more user friendly in most cases. We still have the other stuff to change it back if something serious happens.

Best bet is something like this

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I just bought one for my 070, which I believe uses the same setup. I could be wrong though because I know the 090 used a clutch with more shoes but I don't know if they were actually a larger diameter. It comes with a .404 drive rim but you can get a 3/8" rim from most local outdoor power equipment dealers.

I am sure someone would be happy to swap you what you need for that 1/2" chain. I have no personal interest in 1/2 pitch chain, I convert all of mine to .404 or just ditch the saw if conversion parts are not available.

sorry for the hijack,:msp_rolleyes: but i have an 090g i would like to find a .404 for it. thanks.

Here's the one I have.

You are either very lucky or have a lot of money!!

The 090 .404 spur and the 070 .404 spur and rim set ups are still available over here. New not NOS.

LOL!!!
Definitely lucky!!!
Most of my stuff has come from group or lot purchases that no body knew what it was for or didn't want it!! (right place right time).
If I had alot of money, I would have owned every 090G that has hit the market!!!
