I have a Sugi Hara 20 inch and a Sugi Hara 24 inch bar for my 372XP.

Both bars have the small slanted oiler hole that we see on Oregon Bars now.

The problem is that the hole in the bar will get stopped up after about 5 minutes of cutting.

Both bars are new and I now just keep a oil squirt can with me to keep the bars oiled, but I need to replace them with one that works right.

Anybody here have a problem like this? I know I could buy Husqvarna bars, but I think they are made by Oregon, and if so, I will likely end up with the tiny slanted holes that will clog up too.

Thanks for any help.

The cheapest solution is to open the little oil holes up with a good drill bit or a tiny carbide cutter.

tsumara bars have the same style holes as well, perhaps if you could find some GB bars, the ones I have have different holes

I have had the same issue

dill them out with bigger drill bit all the way through the way bars used to be. ( i have sevral bars like this I run on my 371 and 372)

The Tsumara I got yesterday doesn't have that style oil hole....

Had the same problem with mine checked the bar and there was a gunk buildup occoring that I was missing at the bottom of the slot so washed the bar with dawn and boiling water and also went back and filed the front hook of the drive link a little to help dig out the crud a little better just some suggestions that worked for me.

Easy fix!

I have two sugi bars and a few oregons, all with the small hole.

I drilled the the oil holes out to around 1/8". All work much better now.

There has to be a reason that the holes often are made that way on newer bars - and I have not had any problems with them. :msp_confused:

Just a thought, check to make sure all paint is clear from the hole or clear coat if applicable. Also, I have only had this trouble if the chain gauge was smaller than the bar required (ie........050 ga chain and bar needs .058 ga.) I have had no trouble with these bars, is the adjustable oiler turnede up enough. Should need to increase one click for the 24" bar (but then again, I like to use plenty of oil).

Oh I like plenty of oil. I am used to the older Sach Dolmar saws that would have oil dripping off the bar if that's what you wanted. Same for the older Stihl saws, the 026 is a good example.

I had an older 372 that would run oil all the way to the end of a 20 inch bar easy enough. but this is a 2009 model and there is a problem somewhere, I put on a Carlton 20 inch with the larger round hole, and still not enough oil, so I guess the next stop will be the dealer and get them to check out the oil pump.

The saw pumps oil well enough with the bar off, but maybe the pressure is not good enough.

Thanks for all the help guys.
