Ok, so not a chainsaw, but need a hand with this one. Working on a Stihl SH85(blower/shredder) for my bro. Carb is a Zama non-adjustable type, cable driven, only has the "LD" adjustment on the carb. Put a carb kit in it, new primer bulb, new fuel line assm and a new tank vent, and a new spark plug. Unit has good compression, top of piston is fairly clean. Bought this thing used as he needed/wanted a blower, overall pretty good shape, other than being left outside for a while. Probem is, can't get the darn thing to stay running. I can get it started and by playing with the throttle get it up to high revs, but it absolutely will not idle more than about 15-30 seconds before it dies. When it does die, it almost acts like it's getting flooded. usually will start right back up again, idle fine for 15-30 seconds and die again. I've had the carb apart a multitude of times. Clean and reclean. Primer bulb wouldn't prime until after i put the carb kit in it. Primes good now. Just can't seem to get this thing to idle. Any thoughts on these Zama non-adjustable carbs? Am i missing something obvious? All of my other 2 stroke toys run great, zama or walbro or tilly, it doesn't matter. This one has me stumped.

Pitch that carb and get a new one, $28.00. Get the new type carb that fully adjustable and problem solved. That carb your working on isn't worth the time your putting in it when you can get a better new carb for $28.00...
