Husqvarna 365 Special for sale.
Thinking of going to have a look at above saw and decided to throw up a link here to see if anyone here has any comments. Looks real and I will have a husky 365S with me to compare, but as they say knowledge is power. It is cheaper than usual but not Chinese copy cheap IYKWIM.

Thanks in advance, Joe

Yep, have spent the last few hours reading through old posts here and the serial number is the real give away. Seems to be the exact same one as in THIS post. Have reported the joker selling it. Reported quite a few fake Stihls on this site last year but this fake is on a whole new level compared to them. As I said in OP, Knowledge is power. Hopefully it will stop someone else getting burned by this joker. Thanks for all the replies guys.:clap: Joe.

I don't remember those saws having socket head cap screws on the starter. Some copies have have husqvarna spelled the same way on the black tag when the last line is really supposed to be 'Huskvarna, Sweden' if memory serves.

All the newer Huskies now have a combination socket head cap/slotted drive screws on the starter covers. It's so you can remove the starter with either a scrench or your 4mm hex driver. The part number for those screws is 544 08 03-01.

The spare sparkplug is a tip off.

I wasn't commenting on the saw in the ad, I was merely pointing out that newer Husky saws have those combination fasteners on the starters. The saw in question to me looks like a faker- the oil and gas caps are not right and the decal on the starter looks funky.

When I see one up for sale on eBay or Craigs and it has that new box along with the tool kit that includes a new spare sparkplug I don`t look any further. Its good though to know all the little features that tell the fakes from the real ones as they don`t always sell the as new saws complete with the box and spare hardware.

They're only going to get better and better at counterfeiting saws. The counterfeit flat-screen TVs are already getting very good.

The spare spark plug and the fuel caps are enough evidense to conclude it is a fake. No need to dig further into it.....

Where it says "365" on the starter cover the font is too black and also appears to just be the wrong font.

Fuel caps like that have not been around for a long while and those ones, while imitations of real Husqvarna chaps, are "too pointy" so to speak, the projections appear to stick out too far.

fake.

Agreed, the manufactures have already made improvements on these saws compared to the early 365 counterfeits that came out. For all we know they are probably reading these kind of threads...
