I'm wanting to make a bullhook, but not able to find any information on them or pictures. It has been years since I have seen one and I have never used one, so no idea how to make it .
Pictures would be great.
Thanks

The one I recall, was about a foot in length, about two inches in diameter and had a clevis on one end and a piece that looked like half of a pony shoe on the other..and y shape up by the clevis..
I know it's a long shot.....lol

Maybe it was homemade?

If it was for pulling cable, most folks use shackles/clevis's, unless its some genius idea for pullin from the middle of the cable, in which case I have a couple of cable grips but they taint cheap, and not meant for more then getting rigging ready, not that that ever stopped me from using em for skidding logs.

Pulling from the middle is exactly what it is for. Probably a hick-a-billy tool..lol

Hick-A-Billy... stealing that...

The Klein cable pullers work pretty good, think both of mine are rated for 1/4-3/4 the harder you pull the harder they grip, I've never had one slip.

But like I said they are very expensive for what they are.

This the item??
We called it a grip at work, come in different sizes, very well made,, you must be able to trust them.
Have very hard jaws,,on the ones we used the jaw was replaceable but never saw on wore out.

I have not used one before, only seen it 30 years ago and always thought it would be a great tool too have around..
Do all of my skidding with horses, though it was about my speed.
