Hi guys, I'm looking for a clamp-on type throttle lever that can be controlled via cable and remove handle for milling. Is there anything off the shelf that is reasonably priced and durable? I've searched the internet and see this question get asked a thousand times but all were custom made solutions. I'm actually surprised there isn't a product for this offered by any of the CSM manufactures.

Something like this is what I'm looking for...

My norwood mill came with one ,part should be available seperate .,come on and off quick with the plastic set screw .norwood mill 3.jpg norwood mill 4.jpg mill 036.jpg

I sent them an email because they dont list it separately. Hopefully they will sell one or I will have to make my own.

I have a replacement parts list i think at home that came with the mill ,i will see if it is listed in there and post the part #s if it shows them ,may be tomorrow though .

Here is some stuff out of the manual if take the little # in the circle and cross to the parts list will end up with part #s for what you want .KIMG0880.JPG KIMG0879.JPG KIMG0877.JPG KIMG0875.JPG KIMG0873.JPG

I started out with that type of remote trigger (based on a bicycle brake arm) on my 076, but within a dozen or so logs I notice significant wear on the trigger so I had to replace the trigger. I thought the rubber brake pad would protect the trigger but it didn't. Then I tried out various forms of padding like sponge rubber (which wore straight through within a couple of cuts. The best thing I found was hydraulic hose (not too hard and not too soft) but it still wore the trigger.

Thats I went for a direct action on the trigger lever wire arm and a MC throttle attached to the wrap handle. Of all the mods on my mill I rate this number one.

Have had the mill several years now,no wear at all on trigger of saw,,good idea on the hose though

Some companies amaze me. @Trx250r180, I called Norwood and asked about the throttle actuator and the lady was helpful in finding the parts and confirming all I needed. She then went and asked another person some questions because they have updated (rev'ed) the parts and the numbers in the manual we were both looking at are no longer available. When she came back she told me I needed to provide the serial number from the mill for them to confirm what parts I needed... I told her the parts she is looking up are generic and are not specific to the mill. She then told me I had to provide the serial number off the mill for them to even sell me a part! Unbelievable! If you were in the business of making products wouldn't you want to sell them to who ever will buy them?

I give up, I'm making my own out of a bicycle brake. It'll be cheaper in the end.

This is garbage. One company I got into a discussion with about this told me their spare parts logistics required they keep the parts only for their customers. I suggested they ask their spare parts manufacturer to make a few more so they could make some more sales.

Yes thats not good business , America is about modding and making it fit a nich and work better .We sell a lot of parts world wide and sell one part out of a kit if thats what you need . Please the customer .
