Thanks for the info Steve. Hey what is the settings on those carbs? And has your PM 605 ever had a bar oil leak?

1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turn out but that's just to get it warmed up. Close to1 1/4 but altitude will vary on settings. Will need to install cover between carb adjustments til you get it right. Never had an oil leak on my pm605.

I was looking through my Poulan 1800s and 2000s and I see this on many of them. Is this a reason for concern?

Son inlaw gave me this, free barn find with original case. Will fire on prime. Just have to wait to finish up other projects before starting on this one. Still has a number label on bottom of saw, looks to be a low use saw. Also gave me a Remington plastic case saw, basket case probably.

Well a guy my son inlaw works with, his father had passed away and he fellow had an old chicken house full of old stuff and they wanted to clean it out. Son inlaw also got two old outboard motors from the 50's along with a few more items. Said he's going back to get two old wood heaters, a pot belly and the old flat front loader style and no telling what else.

You would be better off to give the plastic Remington back. Miserable little saws. On the other hand it will make you think that much more of your S25DA.

+1

I strongly suspect those are the main reason Remington discontinued production of gasoline powered chainsaws.

The chain oiler relied on the throttle link to squeeze the bar mount oil line shut to stop bar oil flow. That, coupled with the tank mounted high, guaranteed that once started it would empty the tank, running or not. Syphon it dry it will.

The air filter was also a cruel joke.

The very definition of 'single use throwaway saw'.

Hell , everything is made in China so why not try them.

I disagree, that is what is wrong with the American economy, we keep helping other countries. China steals all of our technologies and copies everything, they own more of the USA then itself, buy American if possible. My 2 cents

Does anyone in here know if i can use a stihl 046 ring or other common 52mm ring on my OEM Poulan Pro 475 ?? Its a mahle single ring p/c setup...i lost the original ring!

Hi Folks,

I've been wondering if you could use the Husky top end from Huztl to rebuild your Poulan small saws, Wild things and such like. Prices are way cheaper than Poulan replacements. I know these saws don't get a lot of Love but they work if looked after.

The stihl ring is 1.2mm thick. I would think a 272xp ring is what you need. You should be able to get a caber ring pretty cheap.
