at this stage, anti vibes
i have to replace them on 2 288xp's
the ipls i have only show 1 point on the tank/handle

just wondering if they all are one size on these saws or is there small and large like on some others.

also on the saws at the moment some are all rubber and some are coil spring/rubber. is one better than the other?

not talking about the big coil outside the front, mounted to the dog/case

who would sell these, parts here are more expensive than gold....

serg

IMO springs are better as they resist fuel + UV damage. A few years ago the stihl guys would have argued, but stihl are now starting to bring out spring mounts... :givebeer:

However, On the 288xp model you get a choice of Hard / Soft Rubber mounts at the back, go with the hard. 501 81 47 02. Metal at the back was an afterthought by husky, but I have found the hard rubber works best on the rear on this unit.

try an aussie dealer first, you would be surprised... it can be quite expensive getting small parts in from usa, and a lot of hassle with no guarantees of delivery.

I have delt with John Cobbett at new age arbor products many times for rayco parts and climbing gear, he knows what hes doing and doesnt hike his prices up. give him a call if you get stuck, im pretty sure hes a husky dealer (not spam, im in another country!!!)

Cheers

ok, they want $18 for a rubber mount and $25 for a coil mount.

i need 12.....

so USA might be a better option.

steve, what was your reason for the rubber over metal at the back???

cheers, serg

You could check with Bailey's. They are good folks to deal with. Post a question for Gregg Grande in the Bailey's forum.

yeah i will be going with baileys, have used them once already.... good folks

just need to decide which is better full rubber or coil type....?????

Baileys, one of the site sponsors is a husky dealer and should be able to get you anything you need. Like someone else, check with grande dog.

on that model husky originally had rubber, and it worked well. they offered metal as an option some years later as husky were trying to convince the pro market that springs are better (they are). However, i believe that as metal was an afterthought for this model they never quite got it right. I ran metal for a while, but changed back to rubber. just felt better for some reason.
