Any of You Guys in Ontario know if there are any Good saw Shops in Kitchener????? and how far A drive is Toronto from there???? :givebeer:

Kitchener is about an hour drive from Toronto, good saw shops are not here or anywhere in the area, there are shops that sell saws but that is about it.If you have time to travel to the north -about 3 hours from kitchener there's an old timer, that is i believe the biggest husky dealer in Ont maybe Canada he's got barns and sheds full of saws, they are everywhere. He's just outside the town of Burk's Falls. Don't follow directions on husky locator they are incorrect. G Lane is his name, nice area of Ontario as well.
Lots of good brewers in Kitchener-Waterloo Wellington area-never an issue to find a buzz.Enjoy your time in the area and all the best,if you need directions or info, let me know.

exactly what Im looking for!!!!

Thanks for the Tip Pile It...... I had an old friend who's passed away 6 years ago who told every one he was a Pilot,,,,, when they asked him what kind of plane he flew he'd just chuckle and set the Hook :notrolls2: and exclaim Oh I dont fly aero-planes!!! then proceed to tell them about his work which consisted of clearing pipeline and utility right of ways and how he would pile it over here and over there... great guy,,, GRHS  man he was rough on his saws,,,, He used to bring them in in boxes and say hey I got you a box lunch!!!!! when he would get two or three He'd come into the shop and ask if I could make him one that would run??????

will PM If I cannot draw a bead On Mr. Lane,,,,

Which way are you headed? If you are going through Erie, PA, Cutter's Choice is there if you need any supplies, good people. Also there is Brewerie a micro brew in downtown Erie that has all PA beers and $2 pints on Tuesday if your there. A great saw shop about a 2 hour drive off I-90 if you want too.

How else are they supposed to end? Any good beer in Alberta, I will be going for my PhD possibly in Edmonston.
We drink more Beer here than any other Province per cap. Check out Canmore just before Banff lots of pubs there have micro brew and the Mountains are right in the back yard.

Couple of things:
1) I wouldn't want to do buffalo/burks falls and back in a day, doable but a major hike, and
2) Be careful about speeding up here. New law being applied, 50 kmh over gets your vehicle seized for 7 days and a minimum 2000 dollar fine! They are siezing cars every day, and they DO have reciprocity with most states for collecting tickets! Rental car companies get really bent out of shape if you get thier car siezed. Speed limit on the big roads is 100 kmh(62 mph) and you probably won't get bothered at 15 over............
3) they're right about the beers around Kitchener/waterloo.......

Kitchener /Waterloo area is nice area.Lots of pretty little farms and a Mennonite village (St.Jacobs)thats a must see.If I'm not mistaken Oregon also has a bar factory there.
Lots of Info on Gibb already posted on AS do a quick search.
As for micro breweries,Sleemans makes a decent brew as does Steelback and Laker. If I'm not mistaken Octoberfest should be rockin.
Pretty time of year with the leaves turned color.
Enjoy your stay

If you don't make it to Burks Falls there is a good husky and stihl dealer in Erin ontario about half hour northwest of toronto. But if you make it to uncle Gibby's a few things to remeber Wait you your turn if there is people out side just wait for the old guy with one rubber boot and one running shoe on to come out when he is done with every one in front of you he will ask you what you want.Don't rush him or you will pay top buck for it ,he sells saws for less then anyone around the other dealers around here say gibb sells saw for less then they can buy them from the factory.Well hope you make it there it's a good time and a sight to see.
Good luck

There is a post on this shop with lots of details on the site. Never been there myself but I grew up about 50 miles away from Burks Falls. Nice drive up from Toronto as well, Better than the drive to Kitchener...
