What saw takes a 54 drive link chain? I've got a Stihl 021 that I found a bunch of old, but new condition, chains for. All but one are 55 drive links, for a 16" bar. These are Sabre chains and they cut pretty good, just have the one oddball that will fit, but I'm wary about putting a 54 link chain on a Picco bar designed for 55 links. Any answers? Did the chain maker goof and not count enough links before he cut? Thanks.

Don't worry, the bar can't count... ;)

If you can fit and turn it freely you can use it, no problems. The chain can have been custom made to whatever saw or bar combination, maybe by someone who thought that particular brand used to stretch more than others.
