Is their any way to mod the 4 mix engines on Stihl pole pruners?

I guess I should have specified, are their any reliability mods. Like opening up the muffler to make the engine run cooler or removing the catalytic converter?

Who knows, its kind of new and weird.
I wouldn't get into modding anything on the 4-mix engines. With valves you're not going to buy anything with a muffler mod, and like Ed*L said, the drive parts are very expensive and modding the engine to produce more power is only going to be conducive to breaking the drive parts faster. Keep the chain sharp and run it as is.

There is no cat muffler on 4-mix...

The manual mentions a catalytic converter
and I just want the thing to last longer. I'll leave it as is and keep using synthetic.
