Where would I be able to sell one and get the most money? It is in like new/ mint condition, and runs like a top. I saw one go for almost 300 on ebay, but don't know if i can get more. Plus i think ebays fees are getting hefty. Thanks.

I'd say $300 would be pretty close to top dollar for that saw. The saw isn't really historically important or rare .
That saw was getting to be a dated design by around 1960 or so. This saw's origins would be the gear-drive model 17 in 1954; saws like the Wiz and Zip were designed to fill in the gaps for the price-conscious buyer after the tooling was proven.

Well those are quite bold statements. When did you see a Wiz sell at $300? It may be true a Wiz 55 or Wiz 66 in top 1 condition may sell that high but the common Wiz will not nor should it fetch $300.

i saw one go on ebay, 1 month ago, and it was a wiz, not zip or 55, just a wiz. I don't even think it ran, because of carb, but i saw a lot of bids in the 200, and it ended at 280ish, i believe. Plus 40 shipping.
The one i have has to be near new, because it still has all the decals, red "homelite" on the 24" bar, original chain, 150 psi compresion, and almost all of its paint, except of the handle and a little on the tank.

Are you sure that wasn't a bow-saw version that went that high. Other than an occasional one that ends with a buy-it-now before I happen to see it, I can't imagine there have been more than a handful of Homelite saws sold on ebay in the last 6 months that I haven't looked at (except for the plastic POS models). And I don't remember any plain old Wiz models going for that much money-and I would have noted that amount. I have seen some of the ones with bow bars go for absurd amounts, but no regular ones. Heck seems like a decent Super Wiz went just a week or two ago for 50-60 bucks or something like that.
At any rate, to answer your original question, the only place you'd have a prayer of getting near what you think you're going to get would be on Ebay. I can't imagine anybody here would give you that much for that saw, and you're going to be extremely hard pressed to get much trying to sell it in the paper or on Craigslist. If you're really wanting a certain amount, either start the bidding at or near that amount or throw a reserve on it.

I seached completed auctions and about all I could find was item #130203438834. A little shy of $300 though.

Yeah that was the one I was thinking about. I only remember that one because of the laugh I got from his description: "May need some carb work and tuning if used for commercial cutting". I'd quit my job as a chemist to go join a commercial outfit still using a Super Wiz daily!
