Threw you in a chat I have with our Russian friend. So you can see my rig kinda. I don't care for the steel core lanyard and only use it for straight trunk removals. I normally use one with a prusik and clips on each end.

Gotcha, thanks! What do you like about the regular vs steel core, just easier to work with?

The steel core lays nicely when spiking up a trunk, but not so great for some operations in a canopy. Also the heavy steel clips on those can come around and whack you hard. Both when pulling it off the tree and when tossing it around. The eye makes the clip limp where a knot or spliced eye holds it tightly. The mechanical prusik only functions one direction so you need a second tie in.

19 Y/O, love 2 strokes and cutting trees. Wouldn't mind making a career out of it.
