The trees are in a national park so they don't want them falling. They want more of a natural looking high stump. the trees they have marked for removal have root rot and are deemed hazardous to take 150 -200 ft tops by climbing, so blasting is the preferred choice and the most fun, although you do get quite the rush taking of 190 ft tops and the Deere in the pick was a 3500
