I'm guessing, but It looks like a guide to saw your wood. It would be like noodling all your wood into splits.

Use the husky to make a slot, slip the big metallic splitting wedge in the slot, use the Stihl maul that's sitting on the ground!

Appears to be a rotating striking/cutting knife blade like face, you run it long ways down the log.

Simple - you use your chainsaw like a sledge hammer to pound down that huge wedge.

I got a PM from my friend Tony about this. He is always trying to stump me LOL it works off the same principal as a hammer drill. much like a camshaft the lower splitter portion is spring loaded and the saw will rotate a chain that goes to an off set pulley that will " hammer " the splitter portion down. Ever see a backhoe with the concrete/asphalt breaker? jack hammer, plate tamper same concept.
