We have a Large Camellia Bush that is right next to where we are having some work done on our home.
The brick man stated that it would have to be moved or cut back.

The bush is almost 20 years old. The trunk is 4" across and it is about 8' high.

The Question is:
Will the bush be more likely to survive if it was moved to another location or cut back to about 2 foot.
Thanks
David

I would consider changing the building plans to accommodate the camellia, branches AND roots.

Picture?

We are having a Chimney rebuilt.
The Camellia bush is in the way of construction.
Once the Chimney is rebuilt the Camellia bush would be fine just where it is.
It is just in the way of doing the work.

Thanks
David

David it's the part of the bush below ground that is the greatest concern to protect. Mulch and plywood are useful.

The aboveground part might be wrapped and tied to make it smaller. Without pictures or knowledge of soil type etc. it's hard to advise.
