Hi, I have a couple of fir trees in my yard. I believe they are balsam firs, but not sure. Anyways, I am planning on having a natural gas line installed underground, running from the street to my house. The method for installing involves using this torpedo-like technology which burrows its way underground to the house. These trees are in line with the the gas line path. If the roots are damaged by this torpedo, will the tree be able to survive? Thanks.

You should be fine, tunneling sure beats trenching.
agree kept at reasonable depth guessing here 3 to 4 foot unlikely any tree root harm with that boring method thou avoid the operators equipment footprint compacting the drip line surface
