Can somebody please help me identify the issue with this tree? I beleive this is a lightning scar on this oak, and it appears to be oozing a black liquid with a fungus growing only on the wound site. I have not personally examined the tree it is on a friends property, and he sent me these photos.
Any help is appreciated!

Not much to go by in the picture, but that is certainly some kind of calloused-over crack. The black is most likely sooty mold or the like growing on sap that had leaked. I don't see anything in that picture to be concerned with....but who knows what a more complete picture would reveal.

Yup, mold growing in the slime-flux, post a pic of the origin of that black streak.
 
Looks almost closed...

Clean by scraping dead stuff away and rinsing with 1:1 hydrogen peroxide.
