Hello arboristsite!

My wife and I just purchased a home in Lake Forest Park, WA. In the backyard, there is a tree that leans that we believe is some type of pine. The pine cones are huge. Below are pictures of the tree, a closeup (as much as possible) of the needles, the bark, and the pine cone.

Thanks!

The size of the cone makes me think Coulter pine. If you can get to the needles, count how many needles are in a bundle. When you look close, you'll see what I mean. It should be 2, 3 or 5 needles to a bundle.

Then do a google search for that (eg search for 2 needle pines and large cone). This will give you some examples. There are hundreds of species of pine in the world. If it's native, that will narrow it down, if it's an exotic, you will have some looking to do.
