This my 1965 homelite xl automatic. It is one of the red white and green ones. My father-in-law was given this saw in 1967 for payment for cutting several trees after a storm. At the time he had an old Remington. He used the homelite every year hard for heating a 1890s farmhouse and fencing duties on a six hundred acre farm. The fuel line broke in 1989 and it was retired buy a stihl 028. It sat in the shed until last year when he gave it to me. New fuel line and three pulls and it is back to faithful sevice. It has never had any thing done to it other than he said he replaced the bar four or five times and the clutch drum twice. It has a ways worn a 20" hard nose.

The closest super XL came from the scrap yard
The spikes and rim and drum came off another parts saw from there
It was covered in grease and mud. Cleaning, a used carb, a new fuel line and filter.
And odds and ends make a nice saw for $10 :)
The other one was from my buddy Steve
