Just got my new addition to my tiny collection.





44 Practica with 444 SE starter cover...

I first thouht I as buying 444, but after little googling I noticed this is just 44.

Decent shape saw anyway and seem to be in working condition too. Started at first pull, rews good and sounds normal.

My 44 is the first saw I pick up when cutting firewood. What's the piston look like?

I don't know yet. I didn't take it apart yet. I remove muffler when I have some time.

Nice saw chassis that isn't seen that often.

But which one do you have there? A 444SE with the white 44 practica top, or a 44 with a 444SE starter? The 444's really run pretty good.

I got one a while back that was seized from what the bloke said.. it was actually 15 years of never cleaning the saw out.. it is a strong runner and get used a fair bit. It is the red headed stepchild in my gaggle of saws.. But a fine fine saw IMO

This is 44 Practica with 444SE starter.

Removed muffler. Piston looks good I think. Doesn't look scored.


Some carbon in exhaust port and on top of piston. Maybe I could clean exhaust port a little, but I don't think I take apart the cylinder.

This is not going to be work saw so running condition is enough.
