The Knuckleboom Crane Operator is a key player in the tree work operations department of Dave Leonard Tree Specialists. Candidate must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License, tree work experience, and large machinery and crane operating experience. The ideal candidate would also be a tree climber with crane removal experience and experience operating an articulating crane as a Certified Crane Operator (NCCCO).
Our unit is a new Effer 655 articulating crane mounted on a 2015 Western Star chassis with flatbed body. The crane has a total of 128’ of reach and is equivalent to a 35-40 ton stick crane. It is remote control operated and so far it has been operated by a designated man on the ground, although it can be operated by the climber in the tree.
