Want to Buy 262xp tank

70yr old buddy of mine broke down in tears when he could not find a fuel tank handle assembly for his beloved 262xp.

Does anyone have one in good shape that they would be willing to part with?

Ya, cn that fri, leaker I bet or darn near. His 30 yr old saw is cherry.
Chain broke, wrapped da tank n split it. Lucky he didnt get hit.

I wonder if there are any Chinese knockoff versions? I don't really know how to look those up.

262xp was a limited production model..

262 with the tool box handle is getting harder to find. They shared the same handle as the 261, 257. Maybe look for a good 261 handle that doesnt have the toolbox. I've got 1 of the 262's with the 261 handle, 3 with the toolbox. Don't know if they came out stock with them that way in later years. Good luck

The "tool compartment" tanks were only on the first few years of the 262's, up to '93 sometime maybe? 261's were only made a few years
