Alternate to SKF 6120 seal for 3400 - 4000 series

I was looking at seals and wondered if anyone had considered using the Timken (Torrington) 253747 seal instead.

The Poulan seal measured .177 total depth, double lip and the SKF 6120 is .188 single lip. The Timken 253747 is doulble lip but only .125 depth. OD and ID are the same for all.
. I am guessing that this is the SKF seal alluded too because the 253747 is what I have been having such a hard time with. Note: fossil says the 253747 is a double lip but mine have all been single. Factory was a double lip though.

Spent about 3 hours last night finishing up the Craftsman 4.2. Got the new piston and rings installed, made a new base gasket, put in new crank seals, new fuel line, cleaned the carb, cleaned the inside of the muffler out and painted the outside because I'm a dork like that. Set the carb to 1 turn on H and just over 1 turn on L. Fired right up after about 4 pulls and adjusted the idle just a bit. Runs fantastic and couldn't be happier with it!

Looks good Nate. What Echo bars are you running that fits them? I need a new one for my 5200.

What year is that? The same sticker is on my buddy's 3.4,(starter side)this is the first time I've seen it on another saw. I thought it came off a roper.

Thanks! Honestly, I'm not sure what mount it is. I got it a while back and it's the same bar that was on the 5200, I don't have multiple. I need to get another 24"-28" bar and chain for my 5200 as well.

I was thinking about my 475 pros. Has anyone tried to run a 1 tooth up rim. I think its got a 7 tooth now. Would it pull an 8 tooth with a 36" bar but run a full skip chain.

IMO no dont do it. Will it do it yes but will be hard on it IMO.

475 pulls 37" full comp fine and full skip too. But I use 7. Sold as 36" bar but is 119dl and 1 inch longer then my other 36" I had so I call it 37"
