Did this job back in Easter. Didn't really want to but glad I did, met a really nice couple. Got to listen to deer roaring, a real nice location. I'm welcome back for a hunt anytime. Timber is destined for flooring. 38 cube into 14 sawn, not too bad for tawa.20170317_071313.jpg 20170321_082425.jpg 20170403_105146.jpg 20170323_082928.jpg

I had to look up tawa, looks great. What deer do you have down there?
White wood is quite boring, it's what the flooring guys want. In old days they wouldn't take any colour. The mpi guy picked out these trees, the big ones are full of colour. The smaller ones are better for white wood, they usually just have a black shake line.

Reds and fallow on that place, lots of wood pigeons (kereru) bush is thick with miro (similar to rimu) they like the miro berry.
