    Antique saw thread

Hello Joyce, It's been a long time since we talked, I always had a great time doing so. Been through some rough times with sons, something you may be able to relate to. It sounds as if you're doing well, I certainly wish so. I wish to talk sometime soon. I've since lost your phone number. I have...

    Antique saw thread

Perhaps, I assumed sharpening big chippers and scratchers might be a prerequisite for posting on an antique saw thread, silly me. I must admit I suck on square chisel or race chains in general, although that's not my bag. I have to talk to you about some of the old goats that used to hang here...

Well, I just must apologize. I guess this old curmudgeon has been away to long, things going over my head right and left.

Why would they not do so themselves? Not trying to be a pain but, it's an essential part of the program. If you don't do so, certainly you'll get no better at it.

I will big brother, keep in touch. I still covet some of your old school Poulon saw favorites, especially a few in red clothes.

Nope, the stick shift is still a basket case but, with all the proper NOS parts sourced and in hand. The Remington 990 is running but still floods terribly. I know the problem is a ten minute fix but, honestly it's a HUGE hurtle since Jon and I used to work on them together. The HL 26LCS is the...

    Antique saw thread

I understand my good friend. I ain't been the same since my son passed away. Been near two years, just starting to get back in the saddle, proper wise. Miss this place, ya know I spent enough time here. Just checking things out to see if they're still hospitable. You were the first person I...

    Pretty disappointed with this Stihl

I'm mostly a Stihl and old giant saw guy. But I picked up a seized 350 and put a flat top 353 piston in it. I like it! It's not like my woods ported 346 but it's got plenty of guts for the around the house stuff. Although, my trees aren't that big!

    What model Dolmar is this?

I love my PS401. I had it woods ported by Dave Neiger and it is an evil little beast for it's size! Noboby believes it when they see it in action. There is someone else on this site that has done the same thing, it's been so long I can't remember who. Maybe Mopar Man but, he got the same results.

    The Old Giants

I've found all the saws I've always wanted except for a 3100. They are not easy to find. Even the SP125/101B was easy comparitivly speaking.

Should I buy a Homelite 550 on CL for $50?

Hole in the cover does not belong. As others said, it looks like the clutch backed out and cut the hole. I've seen it before. I may by a slim chance have a spare laying around, I will check and if I do, I will PM you.

    460 or 660

OK, for what all say, we all know a 660 will whoop a 460 in bigger wood. However, that was not your asking. Albeit a 460 is big for firewood and is a better choice if that is what your choices are. My preference is a woods ported 440 by Dave Neiger, just lucky enough to have one. Light, nimble...

    Husqvarna 2100 Fuel LIne

I've done several. What HomeliteJim explains is correct. Sounds difficult but, is not.

    Husky 2100

Sure won't run like you're 1100 I'm sure, you are much more schooled than I, I just happen to be lucky. The Golden Horse Shoe hurt a bit though!

    Husky 2100

The parts are out there if you look hard enogh. I found all I needed for two 2100's to bring them 100% up to date and functional. Not easy, I know but worth it, even down to the last little parts. Patients I guess. If you need something I may be able to help, maybe not. JAY
