Betcha havent seen a poulan xxv like this

I used Duplicolor engine enamel even on the plastic. It has held up good on some of the other things I have painted so I hope holds up good on this.

Betcha havent seen a poulan xxv like this

This is my first time posting pics so let me know how they look. It's not a stihl or a husky but I have been working on this micro xxv for the past few days and finally finished it today. I got tired of looking at the old puke green paint on the saw, so did something about it. I haven't...

    346 xp reliability

I can't tell you from experience but I too am looking at the 346xp as my next saw. The 346 turns 14,500 RPMs just like the Dolmar 5100 and everyone loves those. I am sure being a professional saw, the RPMs are no problem but you will get plenty of feedback from the others. Just avoid out of the...

    031 flywheels - measured!

I am beginning to think that I am going to stick with the orginal points system. My points are fine, and I can still get a new condensor. I will think it out more when I get to the ignition on my project. I am still working on the crankcase of my 031, looking on ebay for a used crankcase half...

    031 flywheels - measured!

That is far more offset than I thought it would be! I am surprised the 031s with the timing that far off even run.

    plastic paint

Probably a dumb question but, is there any type of paint that sticks to the plastic crankcases of todays smaller saws?

So square ground chain really does cut faster?

So does it cut faster? I have been thinking about getting some loops for my 272 from Baileys. Which is better, (durability and cut), Oregon or WoodsmanPro?

    Whats your best saw?

    1st my 272, then probably my 021.

All excited about my good deal!!!

Thats a real steal!! How does it run?

Saw fixed but doesn't have much umpfff

Well it is a brand new chain isn't it? Check your depth gauges, the chain may be taking too much of a bite. And if you want it running better, open up the muffler. It can't be an air leak, because then it would race at idle. And if you really want a new saw so bad, JUST GET A NEW ONE...

Saw fixed but doesn't have much umpfff

Nah I ain't hijacking your thread! It's the only way i can get hold of PEST. There is nothing wrong with wildthings or poulans other than the colors. If you still want ideas for your saw, check your muffler screen. it mat be clogged, but the saw would sound a lot quieter.

How much do you want for the whole husky cover?

Saw fixed but doesn't have much umpfff

Hey PEST, did you happen to check to see if you have a 021 clutch cover today?

Comments or input on these kits

Kafar is a real nice guy. I bought a 281/288 clutch cover w/ brake for my 272 (which won't accept a 281/288 cover) from him. Once I found that it didn't fit, I emailed him and sent the cover back. For 10 Dollars, he sent me a brand new 266/268/272 cover. But it doesn't have a brake.

Saw fixed but doesn't have much umpfff

The hi side may be too rich then. At WOT, turn the hi speed screw slowly in until the saw four-strokes(which will sound more like a four stroke motor with an exhaust valve). This is where you want the hi speed. If you get it too lean then forget about your carb adaptor, You'll be looking at...

Saw fixed but doesn't have much umpfff

Does the wildthing "4-stroke" a little at WOT or does it race really high? If it races, the hi speed screw may be too lean.(Too far screwed in) The chain turning at idle could be just a slight LA adjustment or the low speed screw too lean. How does it accelerate?

    021 tensioner

Just out of curiousity, what type of tensioner does the 361 have?

    021 tensioner

    Just because it's not a 361!:hmm3grin2orange:

    Tillotson HS115A

They should be about 1 full turn out from gently seated. Maybe even 1 and a quarter turn out on the low side.

    021 tensioner

My 021 has the stock chain tensioner up by the muffler. Can this be changed over to the side-access tensioner assembly? Is it just an out with the old in with the new modification? Thanks. Branden
