    30,000

30.000 posts, that's really something. I've been here about 4 months longer than you, and this will be my post number... 763! I'm such an amateur... Think about it, even old Lake only lasted 25.000! :msp_tongue: Anyhow, I just wanted to chime in on the cheering, and as many other has said...

No, not directly anyhow. Since some years ago Stiga, Alpina and Castel Gardens joined their troops together to form Global Garden Products. If Husqvarna is in anyway inwolved it would have to be through some kind of ownership of GGP. Haven't heard about that, but I really just don't know...

The we need to help Stump rebuild a shop, replace tools, replace saws thread.

Never think about paying back - because it just becomes a burden, always pay it forward - because that's a joy! And it's also the only way good things can spread and make more people more happy! Glad to see you're able to start working on the recovery of things - and in seemingly good mood!

Nope, the smaller home owner saws might be made in US, but not in Germany. Most home owner saws and all XP is still made in Sweden.

    Makita version of Dolmar 7900

Maybe it's a matter of opinion, but since Makita does own the company that makes the saws they put their name on I'll say either way you put it is equally correct...

    Makita version of Dolmar 7900

I bought my DCS-7901 from a hardware store in UK last summer. They still advertise them on Ebay/UK, but the European price might not impress an US customer... A used 6400/6401 and an upgrade p&c from Baileys is probably the way to go.

Seems fine, but take it easy - it's not a life-time lasting decision. You are allowed to try whatever and change if you don't like it... :msp_tongue:

My memory does not cooperate fully today, but judging from when I bought my 372 (Feb. 2008), I'd say it was gone from the dealers here from around mid or late 2007 or maybe even from the beginning of 2008 and a year or so onwards. And you're right about it not disappearing in Norway, as I...

Thinking about it real hard I can maybe understand that skipping one model that's not expected to sell real well might be saving on cost for storage and distribution of spare parts, maybe some on training the mechanics as well, but this juggling with models back and fourth ruins even that reason...

    Chainsaw storage

Sorry to hear that, but not all women works the same way. But OK then, how about sticking to the idea with keeping the saws on shelves in the bedroom anyway - and sending the wife to the basement? Also, if that's where your heater is located she will really appreciate getting to spend the...

:waaaht: OK, that's as good a method as any I guess! Wish I would have thought of that a few years ago when I tried to buy a 372 after they stopped selling it here. That time I got helped out by an AS member in US, since no dealer I talked to here wanted to try get one for me. Seems now they...

So how did you get to order yours, from the US or how? All saw brands has very strange holes in their line-up in Sweden: Husqvarna does not sell: 359, 365, 385, 390, and for the moment there seems to be no 555 or 562. A temporary lot of the 359 is actually sold at a very attractive price...

What part of the saw actually dies?

Jonsered 2186 is the same as Husqvarna 385 at around 85cc, and Jonsered 2188 is the same as Husqvarna 390 at around 90cc. There's probably some older models that might fit the bill too, but I don't know anything about the older models...

455 Rancher not living up to task

Yeah, that's the bad one, no saw can cut well with it. It's not totally useless, but that's about it... You can't compare to the 021 like that, it probably has a 3/8 Picco chain, or maybe a .325, and both will pull though the wood much easier than the standard 3/8 you have on the 455!

455 Rancher not living up to task

They really shouldn't be sold with a 20" bar, it's too much if you need to bury the bar most of the time. But it looks good in marketing! 16", or max 18", is more suitable. They cut slow? Get rid of the van guard-chain (that I assume is on them) and get some H42 or whatever suits your bar...

    MS 460 or Husky 576xp?

Ehrm... Now that I had a cup of coffee I think that the 460 hasn't been available here at all for many years, other than as in the rescue version - but that does not have heated handles! Strange though, I think all pro-saws should be available in a G/WH/VW version in this part of the world. It...

    MS 460 or Husky 576xp?

You should go to their respective dealers, try them out and see how they suit your hands, and preferable try to do a few cuts with them. You'll probably know which one you want then. If not, this might be some ways to help determine: 1: Chose the same brand as your other saws. Sticking with...
