Husky 450 With Loosenin Bar Nuts

That's for sure. Thanks for the advice, I'll tell him replace both the studs and the nuts, and tell to not go crazy on the torque, or put more beef on it. I would bet it's not tight enough, he is 86 years old!

Husky 450 With Loosenin Bar Nuts

I had wondered if the antivibe isolators have bitten the dust.

No, they appear to just be back off the threads.

Husky 450 With Loosenin Bar Nuts

Hello All, My wife's grandfather has a Husqvarna 450 that he's owned now for 10 years and it's treated him pretty well until recently. It's got the classic 2 stud and nut bar and chain tensioning set-up, but all of the sudden the nuts are vibrating loose while he's operating the saw, and the...

    Sell 361 for 462?

Granted, my saw is totally stock, no MM, but I definitely wish it had more low end torque. I can bog down the chain and stop it easier than expected for a saw that is rated at 4.4 HP. As long as the chain speed stays up, it will slice right through some big stuff. Every once in a while I'll...

    Sell 361 for 462?

    Sell 361 for 462?

I remember Andy, his builds, and his contributions to this forum very well. A bunch of us were asking about him just a couple of years ago, and he actually chimed in. I had always meant to do his muffle mod to my 361, but just never got around to it. You could do a searches for his builds and...

Beg for Manuals section or Brain Fart?

Agree, the times are just crazy stupid right now. I had a couple of split trees myself, and a bradford pare tree that just loves to make me work, so I finally finished it off :chainsaw: If you haven't been here in the last year or so, things on this site have definitely changed around, and I...

    Won’t start when hot?

It's as others have said above, it's very hard to diagnose over the internet, but I had a cracked fuel line on my saw and that wreaked all kinds of havoc....

I thought I heard that Stihl was the only brand of saw that would run in MI;)

    During Storm Clean Up Today....

I tried that first, was hoping that it was going to be simple, but no joy. I've got to drive the rivets out, and it will be interesting to see how much of fibers is causing it to jam.

    During Storm Clean Up Today....

I should receive the new pair tomorrow, Husqvarna technical wrap chaps this time around, amazon had a price on the 40-42" long chaps that I couldn't pass on. I've also got a new forestry helmet coming, definitely learning my lesson from this incident and will don the proper PPE every time I...

    During Storm Clean Up Today....

Wow WDG, that is a nasty looking wound! I don't want to see it before the stitches, but I bet it was grotesque. I shall, keep this photo at the ready as an object lesson in why one should wear chaps. Had I been wearing just denim, I think my injury would have been very similar.

I like the Mac in your avatar, is that the 10-10? I would love to have a PM700, have no real need for it, but would still just love to have one. I suppose that's CAD starts....

    Nose Sprocket Rescue - Illustrated!

Thanks again Philbert, I found a drift pin that's just the size and hopefully the rivets come before being destroyed.

I like it! Reminds me of an old streetrod that's painted flat black. Instead of ratrods, we need ratsaws!

    Nose Sprocket Rescue - Illustrated!

Philbert, thanks again for posting over in my thread about the chainsaw incident. I finally have the storm damage all cleaned up and am now able to think about something else. I was looking at the sprocket tip on my Tsumura guide bar and it's got 4 rivets holding in the sprocket, and the...

Trimmers - FS 94 or FS 91 options

I can't speak to either of the above listed models, but I can speak to the FS90, which the FS91 replaced. I'm using mine for a little of everything, around the house trimming, maintaining fence line, taking down brush, and even saplings. I described my needs to the local Stihl dealer, that I...

    STIHL Progressive Depth Gauge Tool

I bought a Husqvarna progressive depth gauge years ago, I think I bought it from Bailey's and it was cheap. I've been using it on LPX, it works just fine, and I'm sure it will work on other chains as well.

    Ms 362 chain question

I've seen and heard some really good things on youtube about the new Oregon EXL, but haven't tried it myself. I've been using Oregon 72LPX on my 361, and I still have "permagrin" at how fast that cuts, but that's coming from the perspective of someone who was using the reduced kickback safety...
