    chain saw mills

Sorry for the late reply. Nah not 13mm thats for sure. Smaller. I didnt have a spanner that fitted neatly even though i have metric and imperial. I used a shifter.

    Scored piston?

Geez, forums are no place for the tender. I never read a bad/tuff reply.

    Porting cylinder without a crankcase

A base gasket can be a great template for doing the lower trans and port matching. So much work can be done cleaning up and widening. Port match the carb. Open up the exhaust and muffler. If someone has ported the saw in question, measurements from the base will get you in to the ballpark with...

    chain saw mills

The Grandberg is deff a better mill. Just that in Aus we get ‘rodgered’ pretty good on pricing hence my Chinese mill. The long nuts dont fit any spanners i own and the spanner was laughable. I replaced these with std 13mm nuts and spacers. Flex? Not seeing it with a 32” bar of course so it...

    Milling chain safe for crosscut?

A milling chain should have rakers too low for cross cutting.

    3100XP first slab

No probs. Very easy to make. Find a plank or rail to use and make the sled to fit. Wouldnt be hard to make it fit different sizes.

    3100XP first slab

Yep, narrow leaf peppermint. Beaut character and colour. It has alot of people surprised because its normally only cut for firewood.

CSM setups, bar recommendation/ Husqvarna 395XP

I wouldnt sharpen your chain immediately to 10*. Just slowly bring it around a couple of degrees each sharpen. The correct height of your rakers is whats going to be of most importance.

    3100XP first slab

    Vertical chainsaw mill works great.

    What's the Dope on 372 52mm setups??

Yeah i know, old thread. Statement by Mixer - “So... Why wouldn't you want to take that uncertainty and all negative Muffler .... And do what you can to take it to LESS negative effect?! Now you have a chance at using less exhaust port timing to the same amount of desired increased amount of...

    3100XP first slab

Ive made a vertical milling sled for the 377XP. It fits the track i made the other day. The beauty of this is i can mill some posts. Horizontal with the chainsaw slabber, vertical with this. What this means is i have complete portability to do horizontal and vertical cuts out in the bush using...

    best bar length for 7900

Id say it will cut in half the time its taken to date. Dont go buying bandsaws. Understand that thousands plus 1 have success with these so theres no reason why you cant. You need to research more and try more things. Ive only been milling for two weeks yet ive got it figured. You will too.

    best bar length for 7900

Dust equals high rakers. Bring them down.....heaps. Youll be surprised by how much the rakers need to come down. What will happen is the saw will start to cut quicker. Bring them down more, the saw cuts quicker again. Keep bringing them down till you feel the saw start to bog down in the cut a...
