Good call Lakeside you are so freakin' smart that I bet it hurts!.. Thanks for the info, I wondered if that was possible... Still intrigued by the new grinders, but either way I should do exactly that. Thanks!

Grinder - don't yell at me....

Anyone used the new and improved grinders from Oregon or Bailey's. Like the 511ax? My old (it is old enough that the wheel will rotate both ways) has gotten "out of round" and I am looking to upgrade. Thanks!!!

    Who's modified a 359 Husky?

359 get that thing modded. and you will have the "best-bang for your buck saw" you can get. If I could only have (1) saw it would be my modified 359. But, as all of us here at AS know... If you are reading at this site, you either have multiple saws, or about to buy more!!!

    Sharpen Chains

sharp Download the chain sharpening/maintenace manual from Oregon's website. Use the search function here. That is what I did, and between the two I eventually figured it out. Definitely some trial and error involved.

    Dumb Question of the Day

Thanks Thanks Boys! I have a 32" bar and a few chains for it. I just really like the balance of the 28" bar. For me at least. I am 150lbs. soaking wet, 5'9". Big saws and big bars are pretty awkward for me. And yes it is a DN modified saw. Thanks again!

    Dumb Question of the Day

I am using my 7900 this weekend with a 28" bar to cut down and into firewood a 42" diam. White Oak. Any of you guys running that saw with a 28"??? I am short on full skip chains but have a roll of standard chain that I can make into 93 link chains. Should I bight the bullet and go buy a...

will my splitter handle a 4 way

2 cents I attempted that myself on a similar splitter. On straight grained pieces that aren't so large that you can't lift them by hand... It will split them. I found the biggest problem being getting the 4-way to be easily removable; yet, firmly on so that it doesn't snap a bolt/pin or...

employer refuses to pay workers comp

Move On I own my own business (A sign company, not a tree care business), and I think your current employer will not be in business too long if he continues to take this approach. I'm sure there are other unethical practices that he is also following. Move on before he folds, problem is that...

    Stock vrs woods port

359 I have a 359 with a Woods Port. It was a new saw when ported. It has become my favorite saw if I am using an 18" or 20" bar. It is definitely a different saw once ported, I have ran stock 359's also. I have no idea what kind of time it would cut in, I just know that it eats the wood...

    ??? About Trading Post...

ahhh I wondered... Haven't sold anything on here yet (have purchased though). I imagine someone looks them over and then "posts" them to make sure they meet "ArboristSite" standards? I guess even that guy should be able to have weekends off. Thanks for the input.

    ??? About Trading Post...

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for ads that you place in the trading post to show up? I just ordered a new TW-2 Timberwolf splitter and am slowly but surely having to part with some of my children (chainsaws) that I just "had" to have and now need to sell to help pay for the new...

    Truck Advertising

Funny Question I own a Sign Company. I would say that 90% of the Identified vehicles, trailers etc. that you see on the road today are Vinyl Lettering and 4-color digital print graphics (on vinyl media) Ambulances, Police Cars, and other emergency related vehicles are almost always Reflective...

    That Darn 7900

Haven't been posting or reading as much here now that the weather is nicer and I am working 12 hour days during the week. And have been cutting wood on the weekends. Thought I needed to give a thumbs up for the 7900. My chainsaw addiction has caused me to own at one time or another all of...
