Replacing chain tensioner on McCulloch ProMac 600 series (aka on the inside of the bar)?

Thanks for the help. Pulled the cluch and associated parts behind it. Glad i did. My big fumble fingers would have never been able to get it with the cluch in place. Only regret was after i was done i wish i would have left the old tensioner bolt. The part was sold as oem and i couldn't tell any...

Replacing chain tensioner on McCulloch ProMac 600 series (aka on the inside of the bar)?

Thanks Mark. Thats very kind of you but im near the quad cities so we are a bit far apart. But the offer proves there are still good people in the world. How difficult is it to replace the bar adjust nut well replacing the tensioner bolt? I ordered the bolt and it comes with the adjustment nut...

Replacing chain tensioner on McCulloch ProMac 600 series (aka on the inside of the bar)?

I have a McCulloch eager Beaver 3.7. Basically a proMac 610 but i think this applies to any of the promac 600 line. Had the saw for years but it starts every summer to cut enough wood for bonfires for the kid. Besides replacing the fuel filter and lines every few years and the Air filter once or...

    Great week for saws

As I have stated before I could really care less about money. I'm calling you out as a crook and a lier. Ether you falsely represented the facts about the saw to make the sale or you didn't know enough about the saw to begin with and just said it ran and have good comp. I will admit that it took...

    Great week for saws

Lol I feel like this is something that should be taken to one of those tv court shows. Not a big loss monetarily but the still. If you sell a saw and say it runs and it has good compression it damn well better. That's my opinion anyway.

As in sticking in the groves in the piston and not making good contact with the walls of the cylinder? Never thought of that. Might be. Will try the oil treatment and see what happens.

Bad deal from fellow member. Opinions welcome

Thanks for all the replys folks. Just to be clear the money is not a big deal. Beer money for a weekend is about all it adds up to. Also I'm not holding my breath for the seller to stand by his word and send any money back at this point. If he was going to do that he would have done it months...

I did ask about the compression when I bought the saw. He said he had no guage but the compression was very good and the saw started and ran as it should. Guess I should have just walked away. O well. Will tare into it some time and try to get it running. Just wasn't looking for another project.
