Do new saws really get better after a few tanks?

work it hard for at least 10 tanks. thats what i have found with my 462 500 and 661. my new 400 seems quite gutless compared to the 462 and theres only a few cc;s in it. but just have to run more tanks thru the 400 to break it in and get the torque out of it. :)

Noodling up all the stuff my 8lb maul bounces off. Stored under cover. All split by hand [emoji1377] Rotate the stillages in front of the air compressor. 33c hot air coming out 24/7 drys out the timber quickly [emoji1360]

i end up noodling the tough knotty bits rather than busting a nut trying to split them. good excuse to use the saws more lol

    Stihl MS500i reviews

my 500 has been an absolute cracker.. no starting issues. usually start it holding the handle with the legs ok. only the 661 084 and 090 and always ground starters.

Tell me about your most catastrophic saw failure.

wrist pin came out on a freshly rebuilt 084 at high rpm. piston in a million bits, conrod bent and cylinder totalled. expensive lesson :(
