Ace hardware as a Stihl dealer?

That there is a south paw chainsaw, not a down under chainsaw. For an Oz saw, flip the GB bar over so the logo is upside down. Also add velcro to the saw handle, or it will fall off the earth when cutting down under.

Ace hardware as a Stihl dealer?

Amazon lost $4 BILLION in Q1 2022. They cannot afford to stay in biz at that rate. And free shipping will not last. Online saws have been available for a long time now. Stihl shops are still doing well here. Believe what you want, but predicting the future is very fickle. Don't let that crystal...

Ace hardware as a Stihl dealer?

That will likely never happen. Stihl does not ship saws, and no dealers or distributors are allowed to either. The way that Stihl works is through regional distributors. They in turn supply the local stores for local sales only. Prices, release dates and availability vary by region. As for the...

    Canola oil as bar lube

Well, to add a tad to this thread, of late canola oil is up around $11 a gallon here now so I flipped to soybean oil. Called vegetable oil most places, it seems to oil as well as canola. Its also a lot cheaper here at $7 a gallon. Bar oil here is about $13 a gallon, if you can find it. Gone are...

Stihl 034 super air filter and clutch drum question

No problem. This is just from past discussions on AS that I and others have had about this saw's Achilles' Heel. As the saw in your photos seems to have had a lot of run time on it, I would replace the bearing sooner rather than later. Here is the Stihl technical bulletin on the clutch drum...

Stihl 034 super air filter and clutch drum question

From an earlier post by Tommy Hall (THall on AS, a Stihl dealer back east) where he posted about the 036 drum kit upgrade. Pretty much says its a mandatory thing, as he has seen a lot of saws with the smaller failed bearings that fail and grenade the saws to crap. Its not just about keeping them...

462 - skip tooth or full comp?

In doug and larch you can run either on that saw with that length no problem. I run full skip on one of my 361s with a 25" on it just fine. Skip tooth will keep the revs up higher. In fir you can go with a 32" on that saw with full skip no problem. That is what I ran on my 460 cutting doug...

Stihl 034 super air filter and clutch drum question

The 034 Super should have more power than the Husky 359 (4.6HP vs 3.9HP). At least on paper. The 034S/036/360 saws were one of the best ever series made by Stihl. They are up there with the 361, the 660 and the 026 in my book.

Stihl 034 super air filter and clutch drum question

Yeah, you need the larger 360 clutch drum and bearing upgrade. O/w you can fry the smaller bearing in these. Some will say not to bother, but why risk it? The ones in there now can be sold as a set to anyone with a 029/290/310/039/390 saw as a rim drive upgrade to the spur sproket set on those saws.

Want to Sell Stihl MS180c engine and carcass

$60 shipped priority mail anywhere in the USA including AK and HI. All original genuine Stihl 180c chainsaw engine and parts. No aftermarket parts here. I have been sitting on this last 180c saw that I got in a lot of a half dozen from a contractor. He ran these 180c saws to build house decks...

Waste motor oil as bar oil

Eating saturated fat like lard actually has nothing to do with blocked arteries. Quite the opposite, really. Its a complete myth that fat causes heart disease. I know, its against the paradigm of 'modern' medicine these days, and many doctors still do not agree, but a growing number of doctors...

Waste motor oil as bar oil

One other YUGE issue with using motor oil as bar oil (used ot new) to point out is that it is full of detergent. Bar oil is ND or non detergent. One factor that makes bar oil better than most motor oil. The idea being that you want the oil to stay on the bar for a while to do its job and not...

So what's the current Two stroke oil favorite for

But but but... its not whut the goons here and on You Toob say! Yeah, what the F would I know. I am just a dumb ass educated and experienced engineer. I spent many years in a failure analysis lab in San Diego. As such, I happen to disagree with what you have posted here 100%. So you and your 30...

Waste motor oil as bar oil

Well, for you used oil for bar oil fans, my dad was one of those. He died of liver cancer at age 66. He never smoked either. Used bar oil is not good for you, it is not good for your bar, it is not good for your oil pump, or for your saw, and it is not good for your chains. It is not good for...

So what's the current Two stroke oil favorite for

On the subject of gas? I only use pure gas in my saws. No ethanol, thank you. Ethanol eats rubber and aluminum. And it absorbs water. It also has significantly less energy than gas does. And I do not care what some douche says about on YooToob. Ethanol is great stuff... in beer, wine, and booze...

So what's the current Two stroke oil favorite for

My oil of choice these days. Its cheap, its tested, its rated FD, its full synthetic, and its readily available (at WalMart and Tractor Supply). I use it st a rate of 3oz/gallon of pure gas. Which is 42.66666666666 to one. Works for me. Most small oil bottles are marked with 2.6oz (50:1)and 3oz.

So what's the current Two stroke oil favorite for

Ah, with a thread title like this one, its like saying "Winter is Coming" in The Game of Thrones. And so... fade in from white... we see a Neanderthal cast wearing animal hides in the cover of darkness, they are all drunk, yelling and howling at the moon, with fires lighted throughout the...
