    Indoor Wood Stove Recomendations

I just got a Pacific Energy Summit in Sept, I have been running it a little and so far I am impressed. I have just been burning junk wood and cut off weird pieces and only about 1/2 loaded at a time, and there is no problem heating the house(2100sq ft living and 500sq ft unfinished tri level...

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

I like to make new threads when I can. I have seen where heli coils have not held up very well on muffler applications. If you use the locktite you should not have to fix it again. I will have to play with the heli coils more to get more confident with them.

    Stihl 200t muffler bolts stripped

You should have no problem going up in size I fixed one for a friend about 5 years ago. I think I had to go up to a 1/4 sae fine thread because it was so bad, but when I did that I had to drill out the muffler a little also but it worked great and is still going strong and do use the red loctite.

    Revenge of the Flippy Caps

I only have a couple of saws with the flippy caps and I will say not the best idea, but if that is one of Stihls worst ideas I will deal with it. After working on other saws and seeing some of the engineering nightmares( Plastic carb boot clamps that don't hold, carbs held on with screws threaded...

    Usps>ups

For smaller lighter stuff usps beats the heck out of ups if you don't need to track it. You can go on both there sites with approx. weights and check there pricing. Check before you ship you may be suprised.

    Stihl BR600 blower ?

If you have another swap the ign module I have seen 3-4 4-mix's with bad modules. They would either just pop when starting all the way to running for a while then quiting and not starting or hard starting. Chased some of those problems for awhile. Just an idea.

Stihl 064 ... highest power to weight of any big saw?

Alot of the 064's are 15-20+ years old I will like to see if the 7900's hold up that long. I have run a 7900 a little, but I prefer my 064 or 046.

    Piston opinion/review meteor MS 360-48mm

I got two like that, I think it is a casting flaw. I called them on the first one and told them about it and they sent me a new one. The new one came looking the same way so I talked with a tech. and he said to clean up the rough edges on the corners and it would not effect the performance of...

    Crank shaft clearance 036

No when I spin it, it does not rub it just seemed close to me also.I was wondering when it is run and heated up in operating conditions if it could rub ,and both sides not being even would cause a problem. One thing I did notice is the outer bearing races run a very close tolerance to the crank...

    Crank shaft clearance 036

Would I need to back off the case screws to do that? Would I be trying to move the just crank or the crank and the bearings? Would that start throwing off how the oil pump mounts and works. I kind of thought to move the bearings to give more clearance, but then the pto side would not be against...

    Crank shaft clearance 036

I used the bearing as per the ipl for the clutch side from the dealer, it is kind of off set for the oil seal to fit into and the lip on the outer edge to fit the oil pump. I don't know the number off hand but it was not a normal looking bearing like the one for the flywheel side.

    Crank shaft clearance 036

I just finished installing crank bearings for the first time thanks to this site. It seemed to go just fine, I searched all the info on doing this and used Lakesides way on the pto side bearing installing it in the case first pressing it in so it stopped with the oil pump mounted on the case...
