    1992 7.3 liter chip truck

The old idi 7.3s were pretty slow and low on power. They are in no way comparable to a 7.3 Powerstroke. And it's not just the turbo, the turbo idi's still don't have much power. But the idi's are super reliable and cheap to maintain. They have enough power to get the job done if you don't...

    Changing to sub categories

I like having the new categories! I'm usually interested in purchasing non chainsaw stuff. Ie equipment, trucks, climbing gear, ect. These things would get buried so fast and you would have to dig through 300 posts about saws bar and chains to find them.

    Charlotte area??

What??? Your talking about a wage for you and another guy? Are you running your own show with your equipment or sub contracting just climbing? Your post makes zero sense. If your trying to run a buisness like that it'll probably never work for you.

    Charlotte area??

You won't win a pricing war down there and live comfortably. If you are the cheapest guy around you'll never get ahead. You need to market your quality and professionalism. There are people willing to pay to have the job done right. No one will take your word for it that you know what your...

    SRT help

With a foot assender and a knee assender there is never any slack in the line. In my opinion a Haas or SAKA are the way to go. Pop in a 3 to 1 for return from limb walks

    whadja do today?

Runaways are most often caused by the turbo gernading then the lube line for the turbo pours oil into the intake which the truck burns for fuel. Only way to shut it off is cut the air supply, stall it out if you have a manual, or wait til it runs out of oil.

    Need a bit of feedback....

Get someone who knows a lot to to look at it with you. What motor? Can't tell ya if it's any good without looking at it in person.

    SAKA

The saka has improved the few things I have issues with on my haas. I have trouble getting it on and off my boot, and it doesn't stow that great. I'm thinking I should sell my nearly new haas and order up a saka. Forget about the haas and buy the saka, it's cheaper too!

    Charlotte area??

We decided to stay in WI but thankfully we're not snowed in. I'm still waiting for a few good rains to wash some of the salt off the roads. My wife is job hunting now. We were really excited about moving down there and getting away from the cold. We were expecting a lower cost of living but...

Recent Fatality - Warning on Climbing Gear

That is a store bought, not a homemade lanyard. That's what most lanyard crimps look like under the shrink tube.

Recent Fatality - Warning on Climbing Gear

To inspect your steel core lanyard you have to cut the shrink tube off. Part of the reason I seldom climb on a steel core. The wires fray when they are bent to tightly next to the crimp.

Green one saying hi from canada

It's very easy and cheap to splice your own loopies and whoopies. Only tools needed are a ball point pen, tape, and tape measure. Pick up some various lengths and diameters of tenex tec and give it a try. Instructions are on Samson ropes website.

    Brush Bandit 250xp engine type

If the engine is your consern buy the gasser. They are 120hp but similar in power to the Perkins. Parts and replacements for the engine are cheap tho. Most parts on there (distributer, starter, alternator etc) is probably in stock at your local auto parts house. If the motor bites the bullet...
