e-z lok for spark plug thread repair

Finally got a new heli-coil installed. The 3/8" long inserts were a fraction too long. When installed flush with the outside of the cylinder, the coil protruded into a cylinder. I had to modify the heli-coil by grinding off one wrap of the coil.

e-z lok for spark plug thread repair

Thanks for the info pioneerguy600. I've decided to go for the cheaper option and use a heli-coil. I know they're troublesome for spark plug thread repair but I don't have a drill press or milling machine handy. The product I'm using is the powercoil brand and comes with a kit including the...

e-z lok for spark plug thread repair

I'm repairing MS661 cylinder that has stripped spark plug thread. Time-serts look to be a great option but they're very expensive - tooling wise anyway. I see some have successfully used the thick walled e-z lok solid inserts (pioneerguy600) and I'm wondering about technique and tools for...

    Meindl airstreams sizing

I'd say they run 'just right' or maybe small so go for the 43. I'm a 10.5 on the US sizing and EU 45 is a good fit on my narrow foot.

changing disk bearings on a 250XP

Hi Erwin, Don't have that old 250XP anymore so I'm just going off the top of my head and looking at the old pictures in this thread. Given that you'll be replacing the bearing and housing it might be possible to get in there with an oxy torch and cut the bearing housing to clear the broken...

    Recommend an Arborist Helmet

Best head protection but not so good for the ears - especially if you're next to the chipper.

1993 Bandit 250 anvil to knife clearance issue - new knife and new anvil

I only ever use a flap disc on an angle grinder (suggested by shaun - imagineero on this forum.) The idea being you don't want to get the anvil too hot while removing material - slow and steady. Run a straight edge and scribe a line if you're concerned. Anything will be better than a rounded...

1993 Bandit 250 anvil to knife clearance issue - new knife and new anvil

Take the anvil off and run a sanding disk along the edge to make it a bit smaller (same as you'll need to do in order to keep a nice sharp edge on the anvil.) 25/1000 is way too close. I'm assuming it's a four sided anvil? I run mine (2004 Bandit 250) with a larger gap than spec say 80-100/1000...

TreeU.com Business Tools for Tree Care

I mean is there some way to demo without paying the subscription first? I'm assuming a demo would reveal all the business knowledge which could then be copied... Maybe there needs to be a link on the TreeU.com website back to the TreeStuff - TreeU Business Insights so folk can subscribe. as...

Im keen for some feedback on my draft training video

Given that the video is specifically about Pine tree rigging you could add the option for cutting branches flush with the trunk in a single cut. Pines are so predictable you can save a lot of time and fuel with a single cut at the collar.

    Tree-mek in action

Made the top of the tree look easy but what about the rest? Does the unit get taken off and then back to normal knuckleboom hooks and slings?
