You have the best flowing 026 muffler they made. I would not drill anything on that one. The mufflers with one hole are the ones that are choked off. Just my opinion, But I have tried a few mufflers and the red switch 026 has the 4 hole exhaust that did not need modding IMO. Nice 026!!!

I took the alloy cap off with drywall screw and the plastic spline cracked when I tried skipping splines like I have heard to do. well I could just put the allen H screw back in and it will work but i would like to have the alloy cap back on so i can use the screwdriver to adjust. no big deal...

I just got a ms261 and think it's the perfect firewood saw for me. Before I used a 026, I sold a ms361 because i used my 026 more. Ms250 isn't a bad saw for the $$$.

I have run a older stihl 026 the past few years.... I can say its a great saw!!! I got a new ms261 and hope it is just as great. I sold a ms361 because the 026 was better for what I cut most but I wanted a saw in between the 026 an ms361 and am glad i waited. The ms261 is the saw i had hoped...

My 026 is old and ugly but runs pretty!!! I actually sold my stihl ms361 and husky 359 because my 026 does what I need. But,that ms261 has my attention.

Nice saw!!! Sounds like she runs good!!! Take that green saftey chain off and get a more agressive chain on there and she will cut nice too!!!

There are alot of 026 saws out there as well that are even lighter than the 028 with decent power!!!

I have used both .325 and 3/8 and I like 3/8 better. 16'' 3/8 RSC works well on my 026!!!

You need to build a good bed of coals with dry dead stuff first and then throw on the limbs gradually. It will burn!!! The trick is just getting a good hot fire first.

A used stihl 026 comes to mind!!!

I disagree with this. I would say most homeowners cut 12'' and less for firewood with there box store saw of 50cc and less. We are a small group of chainsaw addicts here!!!
