    Husqvarna 41 question

I've got a Husky 41 that I'm in the process of rebuilding. A winter project I've been saving since the yard doesn't need mowing anymore. Anyway can somebody tell me what size tap I need to use to dress the spark plug hole threads? Is it 1/2-20?

    What guage is my bar?

I'm trying to find a new chain for my old saw. It's a Homelite XL-500. The saw collector's website say's it takes an Oregon 72D. I know it's 72 links and 3/8 pitch but I can't seem to find the bar gauge. Is it .050?

Is it the low speed screw?

Dang, that was quick. The saw is a Poulan Wild Thing, I picked up at a yard sale but in great condition. I put a 14" Oregon Pro 91 bar and an Oregon 91 VX chain on it. I've recently got a bunch of pine trees cut down and the man that did the cutting wanted the trunks. So I've got the tops and...

Is it the low speed screw?

I'm trying to set the carb on one of my saws and although it's running good, whenever you pull the trigger it tries to die. This is after it's warmed up. You have to gradually squeeze the trigger to bring it up to full speed. Doesn't this have to do with the low speed screw? Do I need to screw...

I didn't realize you could replace just the wire and boot. That's good to know. Ray, mine is the XL-500 automatic.

    Homelite XL500 automatic

I bought a Homelite XL500 automatic from a buddy I work with. I got it home and cleaned it up some, poured out the old gas and put in fresh gas. I took the plug out to check for fire and it was getting fire. I shot a little oil-gas mix into the carb. It started on the third pull. I couldn't...

    Need help with limbing saw

I've been trying to work the kinks out of a 2.5 craftsman saw. I know, not a great saw but it's been a pretty decent for what I use it for. I can get it to crank pretty easy by giving it a shot of ether. It'll do great as long as I'm playing with the throttle. If I ever let the throttle go it'll...

    MS 170 vs. CS-306

Cliff R, what kind of chain did you get for your 370? All I've ever used on my saws are the safety chains from Lowes, Walmart, etc. We do have some saw shops close by and I'd like to try a different chain, one that's going to eat some wood.

    Very pleased with Echo 510

Well, I put the Echo to the test today and cut a pick-up load of firewood. I had put a new chain on it and cleaned it up real good and made sure everything was working. Needless to say I was plesantly surprised. It ate through the wood without even a grunt. I think it's a keeper. It was a lot...

    Info on Echo saw

I just picked up a used Echo CS-510 saw. It seems to be in great shape. Can anyone give me some info on this saw? The Echo brand is not real common in my parts, but from what little research I've done it seems like they make a pretty decent product. Anyone know the gas mix for this saw and where...
