We have not done this conversion, was wondering if someone knew what additional obstacles would need to be overcome to make this happen. Looks like there would be carburetor manifold block issues etc, thanks for any input

I would second the CS-400 vote, and also throw in the Dolmar PS-35, it is so light and so peppy I find I can do 70% of my saw work with that little saw!

correction yes it does the 590 does not, and no Oregon rim assembly that will work on a 590, you can order the 600P rim/sprocket assembly but it is $50

Haha would never argue aginst the 044, is just the 262xp is like a YZ 125 full of hell and lite!

Great choice!! I choose the 372XP but I almost went with the 262XP its lighter and pound for pound the best saw I have ever owned, I picked the 372XP becuase its almost as desirable as the 262 and you can get parts, as in all the parts!

We have been selling them for about two years, probably 50 units, with no issues. They are of Chinese origin built to specs, the rings are caber and the bore is Nikasil. If you can use the OEM cylinder stay with that, if not this is a solid option...

The DCS 6401 uses the same coil as the 7300, and 7900, the 7910 uses a new coil that is rev limited. The 272 coil can be used with some wire routing challenges.

Only a small increase in displacement, my guess is the the increased power the moded 6401 displays comes from the lack of cat muffler, HD air filter, and an unlimited coil which will let her rev to 13,500 vs 12,800.
