sxl-123. Don’t see them up here. But, the Terry 76/130’s were what we were offered. Hot rods when running well. About as strong a sub 60cc reed design I’ve ever run. Same piston as the sxl. Gobs of torque and good chain speed. I see you have the SDC with the additional accelerator pump...

Is it time for an Echo stickie?

Those fuel and oil pickup lines always dissolved away. Shaped Tygon to fit around the barb on the plastic tank fittings. I have used the Homelite and Husqvarna oil pickups as a replacement when they can’t be shaken from the tank and/or are missing. They manage to snake down into the bottom of...

Those Phillips are #2 posidriv screws that require a special bit. A regular Phillips bit will walk out. They are a SOB even with heat from a soldering pencil. Impact can help, but you have to literally stand on it to get them to let go with a regular bit and minimal stripping. It is very...

Hi Mark. It sounds like you have the early version of caps. If so, you can pull that pressed in aluminum (?) tube that seals the same duckbill as later versions. It is a friction fit. Those caps are brittle (Bakelite or such) and can crack easily. I just place a fender washer over the tube...

No real difference that I am aware of, just a later version. There were other HS-1xx’s that had the same semi-fixed H setup.

If you happen upon an HS carb with the semi-fixed H jet, this bulletin explains. Here is a link to a post I made and includes the bulletin. https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/is-this-a-homelite-xl-922-super.337244/post-7087049

It has been a long while since I had a similar problem on a P100. I can’t recall if it was just the manual or both pumps not working. IIRC, the manual oiler was dry. There is a steel “diaphragm” sandwiched between the cover and pump body with semi-circular checks cut into it. I cleaned and...

Applied Industrial Technologies. I’ve dealt with them in the Okanagan for seals and bearings. Lower Mainland showing a branch in Delta. I know the local supplier that I used to go to just ordered from them (Kelowna) any way. I skip the middleman now.

I’ve only run 922 and 902’s in the 9xx series up here. They are very strong. The XL-1/Super Mini punch above their weight class. XL-76/130 are really heavy hitters, considering they run the same slug as a SXLAO.

Pressure and vac test failed at seals? I find most times they are leaking at the cylinder/case in this series and/or the handle/case/reed gasket. Two bolts on the cylinder doesn’t help the matter. Motoseal FTW. I just did a low hours one a month ago and could literally see the connecting rod...

Hey Pete. 5200 et al. Saw that Craftsman 5.2 years ago that passed through and that other one from K-town awhile back with the roached slug. The odd one out of the Spokane area on CL. Recall seeing a couple at Son Ranch in G. Forks years ago but didn’t ask. Must have been a tough market out...

I don’t see them around often anymore. But, I don’t look search like I used to. Some workers and some clean ones in the mix. Still looking for the elusive 85cc, though. One day.

Canadian market only. They are really the only ones in that series I see up here. A few to be had some years ago, but not so much anymore. Stihl stops the jeering at the local firewood fundraisers when the 3000’s hit the deck along side the legions of 026/260 faithful.

3000 ran admirably today after I had it torn down this week. Full gambit of pressure/vacuum tests, but it is still tight. Thinking it is happier with a larger (new) fuel filter after sitting for a spell. This pile is the top half of the tree and the 3000 earned it. Bottom half got a bigger...

    Homelite Chainsaws

Hi folks. I shared this on another site I managed to pick up a next to new 350-P last weekend. PO assured it was only run once, briefly back when purchased. Has a bit of minor storage rash, but is one on the cleaner original saws I’ve happened upon. Came with original documentation, manual...

Hi folks. If I recall correctly, I read somewhere of a retrofit of sorts with the 5300271700 NLA pulley from the 2700/3000 etc., saws. Perhaps an 026/260 style with some slight modifications. I can’t say for certain, but I was comparing the two and could see that it might work. I’ve a few in...

I’ve ordered bearings and seals through Applied Industrial Technologies in K-Town. We don’t have a good supplier here in Pen, so when I rip up there, they have been great to deal with.
