    Homelite Chainsaws

I'll try to get one next time I have a chance. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Homelite Chainsaws

I don't have the tools to do pressure checks. I didn't put a carb kit in. I did take the covers off and the carb gaskets looked new so I didn't replace them. I didn't really want to buy a carb kit because it was more than I paid for the saw... However I do realize you usually get what you pay...

    Homelite Chainsaws

Replaced fuel line and filter, seal on cap intact, and I replaced the duckbills. Anything else I can check? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Homelite Chainsaws

Quick question about my homelite xl auto oiler. Seems to run decently, starts easily, and cuts well for what it is as far as I can tell. I don't have a lot of saw experience thoigh. So two things: 1. Sometimes it will really bog down in a cut if it's been going for a while, the chain nearly...

New to the tree side of the biz

So idling it until dry is safe, cutting it dry is not good? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Homelite Chainsaws

Great thread. Thanks for the info. This was pretty clean to begin with, but I cleaned out a lot of crud and I am pretty happy with my small investment for a first chainsaw. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Thank you for the lists! I was thinking of planting an oak on the other side of the front yard but I have yet to do any other research on it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Either way I will probably have to have a pro come out at that point, I think it might be a little too tight for me to handle bringing it down. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Got about halfway through the mostly dead one in the front yard over a couple of hours today. Ive got an even greater respect for the hard work you guys do! I can't remember if I posted, but the one with the hole near the base of the trunk seems solid. A screwdriver only goes in about an inch...

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Seems like the soil drains quickly in that area, there is a slight downhill slope there which I am sure helps. Not sure on what kind of soil we've got there, been tackling a lot of projects around here lately and this tree needs to come down first! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Not sure I want another maple. Wife was thinking Apple blossom. That section of the yard is a little smaller and next to the driveway so we can't plant anything too big. I am open to suggestions! I appreciate the discussion so far. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Homelite Chainsaws

Thank you. It looks like I just have a hole in the fuel tank, no grommets. Is there a generic line I can use or do I have to buy an OEM replacement? The line looks good and doesn't leak but while I have the saw apart I'd rather just replace it. I am sure this has been answered before, but I...

    Homelite Chainsaws

Just picked up a running super XL automatic oiler. I have a duckbill ordered. Needs a fuel filter. Gonna tear it down and clean it up, so I figure I'll replace the fuel lines while I am at it. Two questions: 1. Will any generic fuel filter for 2 stroke engines work? 2. What size fuel line do I...

New house, mind looking at the trees?

Thanks, that was my thought but I wanted some backup before I removed a tree that could be saved. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

New house, mind looking at the trees?

One last shot... Any saving this one? All other maples in the area appear to have leaves. Most of the branches have bark falling off. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Echo 272t vs...?

Well, I stopped by a garage sale today on my way home and found a homelite xl for $25...that made the decision easier! It was dirty but the chain and bar were clean and looked new, no cracks in plastic, looked to be in great shape for an old tool. Drained the oil and gas, replaced with some...

    Echo 272t vs...?

Hey everyone looking for a little advice on my first saw. I have used top and rear handle saws on the ground before but never owned one. I am a homeowner. I have tree climbing gear and have done some pruning to the 5 silver maples in my yard with a hand saw. I don't have a ton of felling and...
