    i could'nt get the video to work but that new engine unit looks a lovely bit of kit, sounds like its got plenty of torqe to power those 2 rams. is that coupling on the drive shaft to the pump a rubber dampener ? i would keep the jerry can i like it.

    the plan is to run log splitter of tractor hydraulics, tractor is around 130 horse and the hyd pump working at about 2800-2900 psi and flow rate 90-100 lmp.

    yeah your right i've made a bit of a balls up with my measurements, i dont know how but i think i must of mixed the outside diameter up with the inside the actual size of the outside of the cylinder is 2 3/4" rod size is 1.5" so inside cylinder around 2" ? good job you pointed that out...

    yeah the cylinder bore is about 3 inch i dont know the exact size because i havent had the rams apart but the outside dia of the cylinder is just under 4 inch. if i can get 15 ton pushing force with these rams then i would be happy with that. will get some wire wool and clean the pitting up...

    thanks for all your replies so far. i like your idea of the log lift zogger but i think these rams might be a bit overkill for the size of logs im splitting. yeah the pitting could be a big problem but hopefully most should polish out, i think what i'll do first is plumb the rams up to my loader...

    well to be honest i always thought they were a one time use clamp, but i always reuse them or keep them for future use. glad to hear im not just the only one who reuses them then and that im not just a tight git :surprised3:

    thats a great find robin, ive just worked out for the piston and rings its about 40 pounds sterling which we would be more than happy to pay as long as postage on top isnt too much. i am just going to ask local dealer over here first on odd chance of them having one sat on back of shelf ...

    thanks for that i have looked but cant seem to find anything, the only posts i can find are in the same boat as me trying to find parts that aren't made any more. does anyone know if there is a aftermarket piston that will fit? would be a shame to scrape it
