My solution after all . Ha , Wild As Ever . I would do what you suggest but I have a 'tree hugger' better half . So the tree will stay up and I'll cutt off the split and cracked branches. Now we'll have a funny looking tree- ha ha and I can hope that it all rots and take it down later...
