    034AV Super, oiling problem

I have an 034AV Super that doesn't seem to oil enough. I'll use less than 1/2 tank of oil to 1 tank of fuel. The oil pump is turned all the way up, and all orfices and channels in the saw and bar have been cleaned. Is there a way I can increase oiling w this saw? I run a 20" bar w 3/8"RSC...

    041 Super

An engine that won't idle down is a sign of an air leak somewhere. Check all gaskets and connections from the carb to the cylinder.(carb gasket, rubber boot, cyl. gasket etc.) The engine is getting unmetered air from somewhere. If the leak is not too bad and the saw will run ok, you can try to...

    My brother stopped by yesterday

The great outdoors! Besides saving thousands of dollars a year in heating fuel costs, I love working outdoors also. I love the exercise, and the great feeling of being out in the woods.

Mauls: Not so Bad After All

Chopper1 I have been using only my hydraulic splitter for years. After all the talk of axes and mauls on this site lately, I decided to dig out the old Chopper1 axe and get some exercise. I,ve used it for about a half hour a day for the last week or so. It seems to work better than I remember...

    Stihl club

My 034av Super (similar to 036) has been a great saw and has cut most all of my firewood for the past 8 years or so. It is a screamer, and has been bulletproof! It wears a 16 or 20 in. bar. My 025 is my lightweight limbing saw, and has been trouble free, but doesn't get used a lot. MY father has...

    2 speed logsplitter pump?

They reccomend at least 8hp for the 16gpm pump, and I think 12 or 16 for the 22gpm pump. I think the 22gpm would be WAY to much for the 5hp engine!

    2 speed logsplitter pump?

Upgrade in order My splitter is an old homemade unit that I bought and rebuilt. I reused the pump, valve, tank and ram. I built a new frame and axle, installed 16" rims and tires, replaced the 5hp horizontal engine w a 12hp vertical. It has the power to split about anything.(22" knotty oak no...

    2 speed logsplitter pump?

A while ago I remember reading somewhere about a 2-speed type splitter pump. Under no load it would deliver higher gpm for ram runback , and when splitting it would close a port or something to slow speed and increase power. Has anyone used one, or know where to get them? Opinions, testimonials...

2 saw plan - which Stihl to run besides a 361

I run my 034 Super (now 360) with a 20 inch bar for larger stuff, and I have an 025 (now ms250) for limbing. Great combo for me.

I know why they call it Ash!!

I burn 24/7. I always have a good bed of coals, and only start a fire a couple of times once it gets cold. (We may get a day in the 50's and I let the fire go out to clean the chimney) I'll save my Oak for very cold and windy days. It just seeems I have to empty the ashes more often while...

I know why they call it Ash!!

That may be the case. I have been burning rounds with bark on them. The Ash seems to burn long, not quite the heat output of Oak though. I'm not complaining it's good wood, great for when the weather is in the 30's. (long burn time when you don't need max heat output) There are many different...

I know why they call it Ash!!

I cut a lot of Ash trees the last few years due to the Emerald Ash borer killing our Ash trees around here. I started burning some this year. Burns really long and well, but seems to leave a lot of ash/coals in my stove. I have to empty the ash at least twice as often as usual. I usually burn...
