    New bar and Chain

Hmm, the saw shops round here usually pair the 310 up with the 24"/25" bar and chain. As far as stuggling with a 20" it does not struggle. For under 400 bucks it cuts like butter throught fir and alder. That is pretty much all I cut. I'ts just my firewood saw. Would that extra 0.4...

    New bar and Chain

Just got my new bar and chain today for the MS 310. Have not tried it yet. Went from a 20" to a 24/25" The chain I got is the 33rsc. full comp full chisel non low kickback tie strap. Is that right? The new bar and chain have the yellow paint on them and the 20" has the green. I think the...

Stung by a "Bumble Bee" Chainsaw?

Is that a Tombstone with Stihl's name on it? :ices_rofl: Just kidding! The problem I have with ANY company moving manufacturing(which means possibly losing jobs here in the USA) to China is that it increases our FREAKING GIGANTIC trade deficit with China. ENOUGH ALREADY!! That is...

    TIPS and tricks

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is a Dodge engine/drivetrain. Is that good enough? :rockn: I love my Jeep, It is a nice size for running around here and has yet to get stuck in the mud or snow. And I cart the whole family around in it too. And I have a trailer for haulin wood. I need one of those!

    Another eBay shafting

I don't know msjanket personally, but he just told us that he WAS NOT racist. Right?? And I choose to believe him. He must have known someone might jump on him and ACCUSE him without knowing him. After all that is what we learn from the media and all this pc crap. So he was right...

    TIPS and tricks

What about using funnels? I have to admit I have some funnels, but dont use them as I am usually only cutting firewood, so I have the time to be careful and not spill as much. But If I were a pro, I would probably make quite a mess! Another tip I have found is that it was not...

    Homeowner Chainsaw info

I requested this book online from my local library. Got it in less than a week. A good read. Thanks for posting it here, I love this kind of information. The writing is good and somewhat funny at times. I did notice that some of the felling technices were different than I had seen done...

    Chain Saw Blues

You got to be kidding me!!??? WTH is the insurance for then? Total BS imo. Why anyone uses ups is beyond me anyway. They are way more expensive than the post office. Most local post offices that I have used go out of their way to be helpful. UPS just wants double to send a package...

    TIPS and tricks

Yeah, its not like there are any large number of trees out here for the loggers to put their Stihls to use on. Might as well get a husky so I have somethin' that needs constant tinkering on.... NOT!! I'm with you Gary! If someone gave me a Husky, I put that sucker on Craigs list...

    "Sometimes a Great Notion"

Just watched it... My favorite line is when Henry Fonda says "Looks like some kind of New York Fairy." Ahh the good ol days before this politically correct crap! ACtually a lot better movie that I had imagined! Reminds me of home!

    MS290 Performance

#1 "with a lot lesser .325 chain." Dont know why you would want that chain on that saw, The 250 is the one I would go with in that case. I agree 100% #2 "bought a 250 that weighs 12lbs with a 16" bar." My Dad has the 250 with .325 chain, I like it for limbing. I agree 100% #3...

The saw I just bought deal or no deal

So.... You like the new caps? That is all I have had experience with and my dads ms250 had a problem with one not lining up right, seemed to seal but always looked cockeyed! Mine are fine as my saw is new. However it seems that the cap takes up alot of space in the tanks. I have to try to...

This belongs here. Sharp Advice From Stihl

Happy now? :D Hey at least it was a Stihl vac. So do you mean 30 degree top plate filing angle? As in looking down at the top of the chain? I have one round file that has a guide attached to it, it has the 30 angle marked for me so I just keep it parallel to the bar/chain while...

    Hey..All you northwest guys!!!!

I've seen a few big oaks round my parts... Laying on the ground after our last wind storm. I think the ground is too wet (Rain) and soft to support a big hardwood here in the Oregon coast range. I have seen a few maples, thought not too big.
