    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Does anyone have an updated MS362 IPL that shows the newer saws with the round filters? Seems to be so many different parts for that series flying around with so many superseded parts. Would like one to compare to my original MS362 IPL.

362 hd2 filter swap what hood

Just dredging this up for anyone that finds it to note that a 311/391 hood is a no-go. The slots that the screws use are different in size and shape than the ones needed for the 1/4 turn/twist lock fasteners that the MS362 needs. The HD2 362 hood that has the adjustment holes is not available...

    Stihl 048 Velocity Stack?

No. I did find another one, but it didn't have quite the same angle on it. There's a guy on Facebook (and maybe these forums) that 3D prints stacks. I was thinking of asking him to take a shot at making one. He may or may not have interest.

Will The Husky/Universal Crankcase Splitter Work On An 050/051/075/076?

I have a quick question about the Husky/Universal Crankcase splitter that is available on the market. This would be the one: Crankcase Puller Does anyone know if it works as is on the 1111 series of Stihl saws, or do the forks need to be bent on it/can the forks be bent on it to work with the...

020avp Super Electronic Quickstop Build Finally Done...For Now

Oldmanriver, sorry I didn't see your reply until now. The additional vents are visible in the picture on the bottom. If you look at the recoils on the saws that are in the upper and upper right hand of the picture, you will see vents above the Stihl badge. Those are not present in the recoil...

    Stihl 048 Velocity Stack?

Definitely. It probably doesn't give much..if any perf gain, but it's unique. Yeah, I've seen that list of links before. Could be a machine shop, though I don't see anyone taking that kind of time or money for an 048. Someone mentioned in the 026 thread that a large saw shop sells them, and...

    Stihl 048 Velocity Stack?

So, there was a unique 048 that sold on eBay today. It actually had a velocity stack installed on it. It looked like a very good install as well. My intention was to purchase it and either finish the saw (if the top end was good) or rob the intake for a different saw. Sadly, I was outbid at the...

History of the Stihl 031 - Anyone know?

The white/clear hand guard models are the oldest. Ditto for the ones that are "Stihl Red", though those models were mostly 030s. They tended to have the orange top/rear handle with the lower part in white. The lower part was actually part of the fuel tank housing, where on later models it was a...

    Can someone ID this Stihl??

The twist knob was actually an older design used on the older models.

Looking for a string trimmer (Kombi?)

I'm not sure that I agree that they can't handle the saw tooth blades. I have one on my KM130 and it seems to work just fine. As for which version to go with, why choose? You could get the D-handle version AND a set of bike handlebars to swap on the few times that you need them. I tend to...

Finalizing saw plan looking for 100cc saw

Agreed. I've been trying for about that long as well to acquire an 084/088. A nice mint condition one slipped by last fall for $800 :msp_mad: If you don't mind going older for the bigger cubes, the Stihl 075/076 saws are real workhorses. They're heavy, but parts are plentiful as they still...

MS200T Muffler Replacement - What Am I Looking At - Cost & Time Wise?

I'm well aware of the differences between the two saws, but the layouts regarding the buffers and how the top handles mount are similar, even if the carb is in a very different place. They both have a buffer on each end of the handle that attach the handle to the crankcase and tank assembly...

MS200T Muffler Replacement - What Am I Looking At - Cost & Time Wise?

That's good news. Thanks for the rundown on it. Any idea what they cost? I should have been more specific by saying rear buffer and front buffer. Usually, when I pull a tank assembly on an 020av, I only unbolt the rear buffer. With that unbolted, you're able to sneak the tank out and get the...

MS200T Muffler Replacement - What Am I Looking At - Cost & Time Wise?

Just picked up an MS200T on fleabay for a decent price. Seller said it had a cracked side cover near the exhaust, but had just been tuned up and is ready to cut. Well, if by ready to cut, he meant after you replace the cracked muffler, then I guess he was correct. Anyway, just trying to decide...

029 tore down...any tips for getting it cleaned up for re-assy ?

What he said ^ Plus it's a PITA to install the top end on these saws with the bottom half of the crank still attached to the tank assembly. I'd pull the rest of it out, then clean it all in mineral spirits. Then, reassemble the long block and bolt it up with the tank assembly.

Nice haul! I wish I could find a couple of 012s...love that saw.

Saw with the best sounding exhaust note.

Close...you're at least in the right family :msp_thumbup: I agree. The dual port magnum version is particularly loud and mean. The 056 Mag II definitely gets my vote for best sounding saw.
